Creighton Drury

Chief Executive Officer

Creighton Drury brings decades of public service leadership to Partnership to End Addiction. As CEO, he is positioning this storied research and policy organization to achieve even greater impact and influence in confronting the addiction epidemic. Building upon experiences and lessons learned during the course of his 30+ years as a nonprofit executive, government official, attorney and student-athlete, Creighton is focused on producing results through effective teamwork and partnership.

Since arriving in January 2018, Creighton has successfully negotiated and led the merger and integration of Center on Addiction and Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, substantially deepening the organization’s capacity for direct services to families; he has initiated several strategic collaborations with private and public partners, focusing on measurable impact for youth and families; he has spearheaded efforts to re-brand the organization, strengthening and aligning its voice and messaging; and he has been appointed to serve as one of only two non-governmental representatives on the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s Federal Emerging Threats Committee, convened by White House Office of National Drug Control Policy Director Jim Carroll and charged with identifying and strategically responding to drug threats in the United States.

Prior to Partnership to End Addiction, Creighton pursued a path dedicated to providing life-changing services and opportunities for children and families. He served as Executive Director for Covenant House New York and Senior Vice President for Covenant House International; Assistant Attorney General and Director of Crime & Gang Prevention for the State of New Jersey under Governor Jon Corzine; Executive Vice President and later President for New Jersey Community Development Corporation; an attorney with the law firm of Lowenstein Sandler; and Assistant State Director for U.S. Senator Bill Bradley.

Among numerous contributions during the course of his career, Creighton has advocated for the civil and constitutional rights of children and homeless adults; helped to build, strengthen, and manage comprehensive nonprofit organizations providing millions of dollars in services annually; envisioned and founded a large K-8 urban charter school; directed a statewide campaign to reduce high school dropout rates; championed and implemented evidence-informed youth development programs and practices; and successfully negotiated the development of a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art residence and community center for at-risk youth in midtown Manhattan.

Creighton received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science from Rutgers University, where he was a Henry Rutgers Scholar and captain of the men’s basketball team, and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Most importantly, he is a proud husband and father of three.
