    Leadership Through Partnership

Our partner programs connect the essential efforts of local organizations and volunteers to science-based resources that can help families. Whether convening community partners or assembling a corps of volunteer parent coaches and advocates, our strength as a national organization helps us unite and lift up those working to reach families in their own communities.

We work to help the helpers, that is, to strengthen the networks that support those with addiction. These helpers include care providers, family members, state and local healthcare systems, and nonprofit organizations.

    National reach, local impact

    Community partners

Our free program for locally-based nonprofits, Community Partners Network (CPN) includes organizations across the United States, encouraging collaboration, communication, and sharing of resources among its members. Our Community Partners are our “boots on the ground,” with a wealth of direct knowledge about the experiences of their communities. CPN strives to be responsive to the needs of its members and to provide relevant, science-based materials and expertise that members can use to strengthen their important work.

    Advocates

Shaping public policy requires the testimony and activism of those impacted by addiction. Our grassroots network of advocates gives voice to constituents all 50 states and is still growing. Additionally, we are active participants in and conveners of coalitions and alliances throughout the healthcare sector, informing policymakers on all facets of how addiction affects American families.

    Parent coaches

Our parent coach program offers peer-to-peer, parent-to-parent coaching to families who are currently struggling with a loved one’s substance use. We welcome volunteers with lived experience from all over the United States to complete parent coach training and connect with families who need help.
