The Request for Applications (RFA) for the 2009 Drug Free Communities (DFC) Support Program has been released by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Up to 130 new DFC awards are expected to be made in 2009, with a total of $17 million available. Grants of up to $125,000 per year for up to five years will be awarded.
Community-based anti-drug coalitions may apply for funding. Application deadline is March 20. For full details on eligibility and program goals, see the RFA published online in PDF format.
ONDCP and SAMHSA also are planning a series of application workshops for DFC, to be held Jan. 29 in Phoenix, Ariz., Feb. 2 in Portland, Ore., Feb. 4 in Milwaukee, Wis., Feb. 13 in Washington, D.C., and Feb. 19 in Tampa, Fla.
