A Massachusetts woman is suing FedEx, claiming the company accidentally shipped a seven-pound box of marijuana to her, then gave her address to drug dealers looking for the package. Maryangela Tobin’s lawsuit claims FedEx gave out her address, which violated Massachusetts privacy laws.
Tobin says FedEx put her and her children in danger from drug dealers, the Associated Press reports.
The package was filled with candles, pixie sticks and peppermints, as well as marijuana. After the box was delivered, a man knocked on Tobin’s door and asked if FedEx had delivered the box, as two men sat in a car parked in her driveway, the article notes. She said she didn’t have the box and slammed the door.
Police have made an arrest in the case. FedEx said they do not comment on pending lawsuits.
