The Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD) is moving into its new headquarters in style thanks to $6,000 in donated furniture and electronics provided by Suffolk County Rent-A-Center stores.
LICADD’s new Ronkonkoma offices were furnished in part through a donation from Rent-A-Center’s Random Acts of Caring program. Donations included a sofa, reception-area furniture, four laptops, and four desktop computers. A cash donation of $2,000 will help support LICADD’s prevention education programs.
LICADD provides a variety of addiction-related services, including screening, brief interventions and referrals to treatment.
“As the demand for our services increases, we are very thankful that Rent-A-Center has stepped forward to help us meet the critical needs of Long Islanders,” said Jeffrey Reynolds, LICADD’s executive director. “This generous donation of equipment and funds will help us fulfill our promise to combat addiction and assist Long Islanders struggling with alcoholism and drug dependence — many of whom have nowhere else to turn.”
