Indianapolis Changes Law to Make Selling Alcohol Easier on Super Bowl Sunday

Indianapolis, which will host the Super Bowl on February 5, has changed its laws to allow retail permit holders to sell alcohol on that day, as well as the prior Sunday, within the downtown Super Bowl zone.

Restaurants and vendors that have alcohol permits will be allowed to serve it inside and outside their establishments and party tents on both Sundays from 7 a.m. until 3 a.m. the next morning, 9News.com reports. Customers will be allowed to roam freely with alcoholic beverages in the Super Bowl zone during those times. The zone is a one-mile radius around the Lucas Oil Stadium, where the game will be played.

The State Excise Police said they will continue to be vigilant in enforcing laws against selling alcohol to minors and intoxicated people.
