The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will award two R21 research grants to study Unintentional Poisoning from Prescription Drug Overdoses in Adults.
Each $350,000 grant will “build the scientific base for the prevention of unintentional poisonings from drug overdoses in the adult population (ages 15 to 64 years),” according to the grant announcement. Researchers will conduct “exploratory/developmental research that evaluates novel approaches to drug overdose prevention.”
Nonprofits, schools, governments, for-profit entities and others may apply.
Letters of intent are due Dec. 21; the deadline for full applications is Jan. 19, 2010. For more details, see the full grant announcement online.
