A new grant program from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) will provide funding to develop interactive games that improve health behaviors and outcomes.
About $2 million will be awarded under the Health Games Research: Advancing Effectiveness of Interactive Games for Health program. The first round of funding will back games designed to increase physical health and/or self-care.
Up to 15 awards of between $100,000 and $300,000 will be made.
Applicants must be 501(c)3 nonprofit, although they may partner with for-profit organizations to develop games. Application deadline is April 8.
