Funding for Cognitive Remediation Approaches to Improve Drug Abuse Treatment Outcomes

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) will award a total of $3 million in grants to support research on improving addiction-treatment outcomes.

The funding will support research projects that design or develop “cognitive-remediation strategies that enhance the outcome of substance-use disorder treatments,” according to NIDA. The grants will be made under the R21 funding mechanism.

Nonprofits, government entities, schools, tribes, for-profit firms and others may apply. Application deadline is April 7, 2010.
